Navigator Of The Seas

The Navigator Of The Seas is a part of Royal Caribbean International’s fleet of cruise ships that are designated as Voyager class cruise ships. It is also one of the largest passenger ships currently in operation in the world today.

It was built in the same Finnish shipyards as many other large cruise liners in Turku, and the ship can accommodate as many as 3,114 people, not including the crew.

Although this ship carries over three thousand people, you should know that you will never feel crowded or feel like there isn’t enough room. This is thanks largely to the indoor promenade which feels like you are in a multi-story shopping centre

What is different about Navigator Of The Seas?

You might be thinking that this ship isn’t any different to her sister ships in the same line, but you will definitely find something unique about Navigator Of The Seas.

Small things like décor and amenities are totally specific to this ship but also larger things like the fact that there is more exterior glass in balcony cabins is something else you will definitely notice if you have ever travelled on any of the earlier ships.

There is also a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream parlor, although this and various other improvements mentioned above have been included in some of the older ships since.

What else is different? There is more for young people to do, and there is a large dining area with both fee and no-fee options to satisfy every palate. There is also a new wine bar and new Latin jazz bar for those of us who enjoy a good jazz session while enjoying a mojito.

Where does she operate?

MS Navigator Of The Seas began operation in 2007, departing from a home base in Southampton and frequently travelling around the Mediterranean and other European countries of interest.

However in the winter she usually spends most of her time doing short-length cruises out of Florida before heading back to Italy in the summer to do more short haul trips.

What can you expect?

So what can you expect when you take a cruise on this magnificent ocean going cruise ship? You can expect all of the usual trimmings and leisure activities – including ice and in-line skating, miniature golf, rock climbing and of course swimming and associated activities.

Food connossieurs will also be delighted and will probably have more than enough restaurants to choose from. The Navigator Of The Seas has just about every style of food you could ever want, with a specialty Asian eatery a new addition over the other Voyager class ships.

What sort of people can you expect to find on the ship? The good thing about the Navigator Of The Seas is the fact that it can be enjoyed by all ages because there is something for everyone of all ages and marital statuses!

There will be lots of kids onboard due to the large number of activities that cater for them, so if this isn’t your thing then you might want to book in a non school holiday period or consider another cruise altogether.

Navigator Of The Seas Gratuities

As far as the gratuity is concerned, the standard rate which is recommended by Royal Caribbean themselves is $11.65 per person per day in standard cabins and $13.90 per person per day for those of you who want to stay in a suite.

This fee is made up of a combination of contributions to the cabin steward, head waiter and assistant waiter, and it must be paid in advance if you wish to opt for flexible dining.

Alternatively you can pay in cash at the end of cruise, including a 15% gratuity which is automatically added to any bar tabs.

So what do people who already have sailed on this ship say about it? Most say that the staff are very friendly and accommodating to their needs, which is always an important thing when you are in the travel and hospitality industry.

Stateroom attendants were also very helpful and regularly checked up on the people they were looking after to ensure that they were enjoying the trip. Food was also first class and people loved the fact that they could choose to eat at a restaurant that suited their needs and particular timetable.

Perhaps the only downside of the Navigator Of The Seas for some was that they couldn’t possibly hope to enjoy all of the activities on board because there simply wasn’t enough time!
